Having reached 50 local business members, we thought it was time to invite everyone to meet us, meet each other, and hear more about our plans for the coming months.
We were delighted with the turnout as 45+ people found the time to join us. Our Mick gave everyone a run through of what we’re doing and more importantly, why we’re doing it – to tackle some of the intractable problems that arise from the current financial system.
We also had a lively discussion with many members taking the opportunity to introduce themselves, their business and ask any questions they had about Goodmoney CIC.
We announced our plan to launch Goodmoney Gift Vouchers in September 2015 and our marketing partner Long Runs Works gave us a sneak preview of some of the exciting marketing initiatives we can look forward to.
In terms of next steps, we’ll be launching an illustrated video in May to help us recruit more independent local businesses. The video will explain what we’re doing and how it works, in a simple and shareable format.
Whilst we continue to spread the word amongst local businesses, we’re also going to start raising awareness in the wider community, ahead of our September launch. So, in May we’ll be launching a design competition for the greetings cards we’ll be selling alongside the gift vouchers. It’s a great opportunity for budding and established artists to get involved. The competition will run for six weeks and the winners will see their designs go into print ahead of our official launch in September.
We’d like to say a big thanks to everyone who was able to join us for the welcome event and an especially big thanks for all the support and encouragement we received – it has really spurred us on. If you missed it, don’t worry, we’ll be having another when we reach 100 members!
